In the latest Call for Applications round (May – July 2021) an independent jury awarded Partnership Projects Grants to the following four Projects. The projects will be implemented until August 2022.

CITIZENSHIP 2.0: ENGAGING SOCIETY FOR BETTER AIR QUALITY

Project duration: August 2021 – August 2022

This project aims to draw attention to the problem of air pollution in public spaces and developing activities of civil society in this area.
The fundamental part of the project is practical training of representatives of the target groups. Workshops on the assembly of the measuring devices, their use and the data manipulation with the aim to reduce air pollution will be held in different regions in Hungary and Russia.
The project focuses on volunteer movements already working on air quality measurement or interested in starting one. As a result of the project, we expect an increase in the number of environmental activists ready to actively work on improving of air quality.

BRIDGES BETWEEN THE EU AND RUSSIA THROUGH LOCAL COUNCILS AND ACTIVISTS

Project duration: August 2021 – August 2022

This project wants to build bridges between the EU and Russia in the field of city/regional council members/activists.
The newly created Working Group on Citizens in Local Self-Governance want to foster cooperation of representatives of city/regional councils and local civil society activists in the EU and Russia.
The project offers civil society actors and city and regional council members an opportunity to learn about participation methods and models of cooperation between local governments and activists in both regions. The participants will be motivated to apply the methods in their contexts.

THE TRAVELLING EXHIBITION “SANDORMOKH - A PLACE OF INTERNATIONAL COMMEMORATION OF THE VICTIMS OF THE GREAT TERROR"

Project duration: August 2021 – August 2022

The travelling exhibition is dedicated to the Sandormokh – the largest burial place in North-Western Russia for the executed victims of the Great Terror of 1937-1938, among whom were representatives of about 60 nationalities. The exhibition talks about the fates of the victims, as well as about search and discovery of the secret place of executions. The events are represented as a part of common European history.
Civil society activists and experts take part in the project. In the frame of international discussion panels, they will discuss historical memory and political violence in the past and present of the EU and Russia.

COLLABORATION OF EU-RUSSIA SDG COALITIONS

Project duration: September 2021 – April 2022

Civil society coalitions play a key role in the monitoring and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. So far, the exchange and peer learning between the coalitions is limited.
Within the project, a peer learning workshop for Russian and EU SDG Coalitions to enhance cooperation, provide exchange of experience and best practices in SDG monitoring and implementation will be provided. During the workshop, the participants develop tools of interaction and collaboration with government representatives, politicians, CSOs, other stakeholders and the general public in Russia and EU in order to implement the SDGs by 2030 in their countries.
