Policy papers are one of the important tools in citizens’ advocacy and reaching out to decision makers. EU-Russia Civil Society Forum (CSF/ Forum) is pleased to open a call for policy papers relevant to the civil society in the EU and Russia and developing policy recommendations on one of the advocacy priorities, as outlined in the Forum Draft Strategy 2020-2025:
- Limiting climate change and protecting the right to a healthy environment.
- Facilitating a free, enabling environment for civil society.
- Promoting adherence to the Council of Europe standards.
A policy paper is a document, which provides analysis of a specific topic, addressing relevant context and viewpoints and strengthened by valid data and policy recommendations. Policy papers can be drafted by various CSF members and supporters. They can also cooperate with external experts from the academia or think tanks in a relevant country for producing the papers.
In 2019, four policy papers will be selected for production, publication and dissemination.
Applicants should submit a concept, two writing samples and CV(s) of the author(s), including hyperlink(s) to publications (if available). Successful applicants will receive a grant of EUR 1,300 to produce the policy paper and recommendations, which will be reviewed and approved for publication by the Editorial Board.
Policy papers can be written either in English or Russian. The paper must be based on research and relevant quantitative and qualitative data that supports reasoning and policy proposals presented. The paper should be original, written in an accessible language to a non-academic community, not published before and duly refer to all sources used.
Applications can be submitted in English or Russian. Deadline is 30 September 2019, 5 pm CET/ 6 pm MSK.
