Accessing professional help from the field can be difficult to impossible. The Mind Field wants to change that and to make help accessible to anyone with internet or a phone connection.

Types of assistance offered by the organisation:

Hotline

Target group: human rights defenders, journalists

Operates worldwide

The Mind Field offers completely confidential and stigma-free video therapy to aid workers and journalists in the field wherever you are in the world. All the therapists are former aid workers and journalists and the support is offered in English, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, French and German.

The Mind Field sees individuals as well as offering a Beat the Burnout service to organisations, assigning a therapist to every mission member as part of the pre-deployment process. That therapist will then continue to be the contact person for that employee until a month after their mission is complete. They can check in three times a week, once a week, once a month, as they see fit, but their therapist will be there to support them throughout – to combat stress, isolation, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, addictions, exhaustion, disillusionment or even just to chat.

All sessions are 100% confidential and the Mind Field will at all times remain an entirely independent body.
