On 7 February, 2020, a small group gathered in Berlin to discuss the path of the Europe Lab programme. Representatives of the secretariat and the board of CSF, active alumni, colleagues from DRA and former coordinators intensively reviewed the milestones, key elements, success stories and challenging moments. And took a brave step to imagine the future of the Lab: Whom do we want to reach out to, where do we want to go, what do we dream of?

An essential and significant aspect element of Europe Lab is the network of alumni that has grown since the start of the programme in 2015. Alumni will also be in the focus of Europe Lab activities in 2020 and beyond: on April 25-26, 2020, there will be an exchange workshop in Kaliningrad on the historic and present significance of green belts as a feature for sustainable urban development. The idea for this workshop was developed during Europe Lab 2019 in Gorizia within the workshop “Climate Change and new forms of Civic Activism”.

Meanwhile, preparations for the annual Europe Lab in summer are on their way. More news on the venue, topics and call for applications you can find soon on www.europe-lab.net.
