The Board of the EU-Russia Civil Society Forum is deeply disturbed by the escalation of the pressure on the All-Russia Movement “For Human Rights”, a Forum member organisation.

On 15 October 2019, the All-Russia Movement “For Human Rights” was notified that the Ministry of Justice had brought a lawsuit against the movement because of its alleged numerous violations of the law [1]. Prior to initiation of the lawsuit, in the course of the past two months, the Head of the organisation, prominent human rights defender Lev Ponomarev, was fined three times for not complying with the so-called “foreign agents” law [2]nikola.mokrovic@documenta.hr
