The independent, non-profit organization Journalists help Journalists (JhJ) was founded in Munich in Germany in 1993. Born out of solidarity, it aims to help colleagues in need and their families in a swift and non-bureaucratic way. JhJ helps with donations of money, goods and practical support where it perceives a need and no official side is offering assistance.
IWMF International Women’s Media Foundation
IWMF is the only NGO that offers safety training, reporting trips, and byline opportunities, all tailored to female journalists — both established, and up-and-coming. The IWMF believes that gender does not conform to one notion. IWMF is inclusive of all journalists who identify as women, which includes trans women, and non-binary people.
