The Scholars at Risk Program at Harvard has been the largest, most vigorously active, and most successful program of its kind in the country, and perhaps in the world. A member of an international network of participating universities, Harvard SAR has provided sanctuary to dozens of professors, lecturers, researchers, artists, writers, and other intellectuals who are at risk.

GWI advocates for women’s rights, equality and empowerment through access to quality secondary and tertiary education, and training up to the highest levels.

Italian Coalition for Civil Liberties and Rights
Founded in 2014, the Italian Coalition for Civil Liberties and Rights (or CILD) is a network of civil society organizations that protects and expands the rights and liberties of all, through a combination of advocacy, public education and legal action.
Eyebeam was established in 1998 by John S. Johnson as a resource for artists to engage creatively with technology in an experimental setting. Eyebeam believes that artists can help us visualize and realize a more just future. Eyebeam enables people to think creatively and critically about technology’s effect on society, with the mission of centering artists in the invention and design of our shared future.
The Ella Lyman Cabot Trust
The Ella Lyman Cabot Trust (ELCT) offers grants to individuals with charitable, religious, artistic, educational, and scientific projects that promote the good of others. Within this general guideline, the trustees pay special attention to how the proposed project will be essential to the applicant’s own growth and development.
Agency of Artists in Exile
The agency of artists in exile (aa-e, agency of artists in exile) works to identify artists in exile from all origins and disciplines, accompanies them according to their situations and their needs, provides them with workspaces and puts them in contact with professionals, in order to give them the means to practise their disciplines and to restructure themselves.
Ithaca City of Asylum
Ithaca City of Asylum (ICOA) is a nonprofit providing refuge for writers and artists under threat. They equally advocate for human rights and freedom of expression. ICOA is a project of the Center for Transformative Action and a member of the International Cities of Refuge Network.

Artists at Risk
Artists at Risk (AR) is a non-profit network institution at the intersection of human rights and the arts. AR is dedicated to mapping the field of persecuted art practitioners, facilitating their safe passage from their countries of origin, hosting them at AR-Residencies and curating related projects, including the AR Pavilion.
