Vermont Studio Center
Vermont Studio Center is an organization that by its very existence communicates that art is an expression of spirit through form, and that the arts and their creation are sacred, timeless trusts.
The Viesulas Estate works to preserve and protect Viesulas’artistic legacy, and foster knowledge of and appreciation for his art through exhibits, scholarly research and artistic initiatives. Viesulas’ art reminds us of the human aspirations of independence and freedom of expression.
Villa Decius Association
Following the initiative of the Villa Decius Association, the Prize of Sérgio Vieira de Mello, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (2002-2003) was established in the year 2003 with an aim to promote human rights, democracy and tolerance and had its first edition already in 2004.
The Awesome Foundation
The Awesome Foundation is an ever-growing worldwide community devoted to forwarding the interest of awesome in the universe. Created in the long hot summer days of 2009 in Boston, the Foundation distributes $1,000 grants, no strings attached, to projects and their creators. At each fully autonomous chapter, the money is pooled together from the coffers of ten or so self-organizing “micro-trustees” and given up front in cash, check, or gold doubloons.
University of Dundee
The Scottish Human Rights Defenders Fellowship was established in 2018 to support those at risk for their work in protecting human rights around the world. The Fellowship was an initiative of the Scottish Government and was developed in collaboration with the University of Dundee.
The Martin Roth-Initiative protects artists who are committed in their home country to the freedom of art, democracy and human rights by enabling temporary residence in Germany or third countries for the purpose of protecting those who are being persecuted.
Human Rights House Foundation
Human Rights House Foundation (HRHF) envisions a world in which everyone can freely and safely promote and enjoy all human rights. Empowered human rights defenders and strong and independent civil society are key to this vision. HRHF is an international organisation headquartered in Oslo with an office in Geneva and representation in Brussels and Tbilisi. HRHF holds consultative status at the United Nations and participatory status at the Council of Europe.
Harvard Scholars at Risk
The Scholars at Risk Program at Harvard has been the largest, most vigorously active, and most successful program of its kind in the country, and perhaps in the world. A member of an international network of participating universities, Harvard SAR has provided sanctuary to dozens of professors, lecturers, researchers, artists, writers, and other intellectuals who are at risk.
